Tourism has been the largest industry in Hawaii. Due to the mild year-round weather, tourist travel is popular throughout the year. And some of them choose to move to Hawaii to enjoy the life on this beautiful place. An interesting fact is that it is the only state that honors all of the other U.S. state driving licenses.
Hawaii is known for its relatively high per capita state tax burden. This can be explained partly by the fact that services such as education, health care and social services are all rendered at the state level. Also because of the nice climate, the average home price is relatively higher than most of the other states.
