Sited about mid-way on a 28 mile strech of pristine sandy beach known as the Long Beach Peninsula WA. just north of the mouth of the Columbia river and adjacent to the Willapa Bay, a prime oyster growing estuary, also on the flyway for many migrating birds. Originally designed as a romantic getaway from Seattle and Portland, Blackwood is now a private retreat for owners and family only which helps to insure the stress reduction so sought after. Several top notch restaurants are nearby, one just a short walk up the street. The area offers razor clams, dungeness crab and of course salmon fishing, many hiking trails and wildlife preserves.
